The Pokegen Legacy
Story of a community: from origin to resurgence
Mockumentary: 12 Years of VGC History
The Forum Birth & The Golden Era
More than 12 years ago, a group of passionate trainers founded the original Pokegen as a forum dedicated to pushing the competitive limits of Pokémon. In a pre-massive VGC era, we became the Spanish-speaking hub for meta theory.
In these years, we hosted dozens of online tournaments with over 500 recurring players. Pokegen was not just a place to battle, but also a breeding ground for metagame theories, deep usage stat breakdowns, and the birth of lifelong friendships.
Dispersion and Silence
After years of glory and epic tournaments, evolving platforms and the passage of time led to the closure of the original group. However, the competitive fire was never fully extinguished.
With the transition to new social networks like Discord and Twitter, the traditional forum lost relevance and finally shut down in 2021. The original database was archived, but the community remained scattered across multiple servers and local subgroups without a unified hub.
Digital Renaissance & Extreme Performance
Today, in 2026, Pokegen rises again. Not as an old forum, but as a modern web platform driven by extreme performance and a firm commitment to reviving the unofficial VGC competitive scene with the highest standards of quality and speed.
Pokegen is reborn today as a modern, ultra-fast website designed exclusively for competitive Pokémon VGC players. No heavy scripts, no intrusive ads. Instant loads to check pairings, submit Teamsheets, and study the metagame in a blink.
